In the system settings, various general settings for editing can be made via the 'Editor' tab, which apply across all presences

Operation

'Show pause button in menu bar':

If this parameter is activated, the pause button is displayed in the menu bar next to the save buttons.

'Compress output in editor':

If this parameter is activated, the output is compressed within file editing.

'Weblic administration accessible via the structure editor':

If this parameter is activated, a button to call up the Weblic administration ("Install Weblics") appears for administrators within the layer of a structure element. This means that additional Weblics® can be installed quickly and easily directly via file editing.

'Check links when saving':

If this parameter is activated, all links (src, href) in a page are checked when saving. If a link is not accessible, a corresponding message is displayed.

'Hide buttons in translation window':

If this parameter is activated, the edit buttons in the left-hand translation window are hidden in split screen mode during editing.

'Start image editing with metadata mask':

If this parameter is activated, the draft tab with the metadata mask opens directly when editing a checked-in image file. Here you can enter the title, description, etc. for the image.
If this parameter is deactivated, editing starts directly in the "Image editing" tab.

'Show preview in editor on mouseover':

If this parameter is activated, the preview is displayed in the editing process on mouseover via the " Preview" tab.
If this parameter is deactivated, the preview is only opened when the "Preview" tab is clicked.

'Close configuration masks when clicked next to':

If this parameter is activated, configuration masks also close when clicking outside the mask.

'Interval in seconds for automatic saving in the editor':

In this field, you can optionally enter the number of seconds at which the editor creates temporary backup copies during page editing.
The backups are stored in the temporary directory of the software and can only be restored during page editing. They can be restored using the edit icon Icon in the top right-hand corner of the editing screen.

'Limit versions to the following number':

In this field, you can optionally enter the number of backup copies that are stored as file versions when saving a file. These older editing statuses can be restored via the Versioning module.
This field only appears if the Versioning core add-on module is licensed! Without a license, only the last file version is created when saving.
