Almost every agency has its own project-specific preferences around which it customizes each new BASE installation. These may be special project settings, CSS adjustments or additionally integrated JS plug-ins. With its own download server, any BASE components can be loaded directly from its own server.
The own download server has the same function as the official Weblics download server. It is integrated additionally or exclusively and provides its own Weblics. The following installable Weblics are possible:
As you can see, your own download server offers countless possibilities for enriching a project with your own functions, weblics, files and components.
The left-hand window lists the Weblics ® that have already been created. The right-hand window lists the files associated with Weblics ® that have already been published.
A download server is always based on a project. You can turn any Mobile First project into a download server by assigning a password in the Weblics administration and then offering your own file packages for download.
To do this, carry out the following steps:
You have now set up your own download server, which can be used by any project in conjunction with the defined password.
Now that you have made an initial Weblic available on your download server, you can link it to any project. The link is also created in the project configuration.
All you need to do is enter the password followed by @ and the path to the download project so that the weblics can be installed.
The weblics from your own download server appear in the list of weblics to be installed.
There are no concrete specifications for the files to be published for a custom Weblic®.
If a Weblic® is also based on existing structural elements (e.g. list, image, etc.), the question arises as to whether these elements should also be specified. As a rule, certain standard Weblics® already exist in the target project and therefore their templates do not need to be supplied again. If you do not make any individual adjustments to standard templates, it is generally not necessary to supply these templates in your own Weblic®.
The Weblic® ID must be unique. It is recommended to use a name as in the example given for the input field (e.g. MyWeblic1.standard or rezepte.custom or similar).
The default value in the field is "weblic.standard", which is used to drag a graphic from CSS sprites.
You can also link your own icon, which should have a maximum size of 32 x 32 pixels and be in image format (png, gif, jpg, svg). It is best to select the images directory of the global project as the storage location.
The fields "Only usable from the following main version" or "Only usable from the following version, e.g. 016.001.025.000" can be used for an individual Weblic®. This specification is intended to ensure that Weblics® that are based on functions that are only available from CMS version 016.001.025.000, for example, cannot be used in older installations.
This may be necessary, for example, for new functions for the object wizard or similar.
