INFO: Version en.xModule type:

File properties - Personalization

In the file properties for personalization, you define the viewing rights at file level. The screen for personalization appears depending on the licence("Personalization" add-on module) and can also be restricted to directory level(standard file settings).

For a file, you can determine who may access the corresponding file. This is usually used in protected areas.

Operation

The personalization to a file can either be set individually or inherited. The inheritance principle is described under"The inheritance principle".

If inheritance is set, this can be seen from the fields shown as inactive. The fields show you the view rights that are inherited. The lower section of the window also indicates the directory from which the personalization is inherited from the standard file settings.

If individual view rights have been assigned, you can edit the fields as described below. At the bottom of the window, you will be informed that an individual personalization is set.

'Inherit rights':

By clicking on this button, the display of the personalization is inactive (greyed out). After saving the edit, the view rights for the corresponding file are inherited from an overlying standard file setting.
Please note that the inherited view rights are not updated immediately after switching from individual view rights to inherited view rights. The display is only shown as set in the standard file settings of the inherited directory after saving the personalization and therefore the next time it is called up.

'Set own rights':

Clicking on this button activates the display of the view rights. You can edit the personalization as described below.
This button does not appear with the CORE add-on module "Personalization (simple)", as this module can only be used to set the personalization at directory level(standard file settings).

'View user':

Clicking on the"Add user" button opens a new window, which can be used to select a (further) user for the file by clicking on it.
The user selection lists the users available in the user administration.
The group selection lists the groups available in the group administration.

User assignments can be deleted from the file by clicking on the recycle bin symbol Icon.

'View groups':

Clicking on the"Add group" button opens a new window, which can be used to select a (further) group for the file by clicking on it.
The user selection lists the users available in the user administration.
The group selection lists the groups available in the group administration.

Group assignments can be deleted from the file by clicking on the recycle bin symbol Icon.

Important! Please note

If the following message appears for a document in the file properties

"The personalization of this document is currently not supported by the web server!"

this may have the following causes:

  • mod_rewrite is not supported in the hosting package
