A/B test

A/B tests can be used to compare two variants of a website or page element. Visitors are randomly assigned to variant A (original) or variant B (modified version).

In most cases, the main goal of an A/B test is conversion optimization. The measurement of which variant performs better can be carried out using Weblication® statistics, for example, for which the implementation recommends the use of campaign links.

Operation

The following tools and masks are available for the use of an A/B test.

Metadata mask with alternative URL

The BASE project basis enables the maintenance of an alternative URL for A/B tests via the metadata mask.

Weblic® / structural element "Container for A/B test"

A container for AB tests is available for page editing in the project as well as for newsletter emails. With the container, an editor can design two alternative contents and measure their interaction via campaign links in the statistics.

Newsletter module with A/B test functions

The newsletter module provides options for implementing A/B tests both for the subject and via a Weblic® / structural element "Container for AB test".
